Our Mission

Simbelle Productions is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit company producing female‐driven narrative films and backing women‐led projects that address urgent social issues. We pair releases with impact distribution that extends conversation beyond the screen.

Our Story

Founded by filmmaker Lauren Melinda in 2024 and named after for her daughters, Simbelle exists to champion bold, authentic storytelling that drives social change. We believe that when women share their truths through film, they empower themselves and uplift others.

What We Do

We support mission-aligned films through equity investments, charitable grants, and hands-on creative guidance. When our projects generate returns, all recoupment is reinvested into future films and community programs.

Why This Work Matters

Underrepresented filmmakers continue to face barriers both in front of and behind the camera. We ensure their stories are made, seen, and mobilized within communities. Film changes perception, and perception drives action.

From Production To Distribution

Hands on involvement in female-driven narratives with clear social‑impact arcs from late pre-production, production, and post-production.
Fiscal sponsorship for projects we support financially as Executive Producers.

Mentorship through the “Simbelle Career Advancement Program,” which pairs emerging filmmakers with established professionals.
A community of filmmakers through collaborative opportunities and events.
An annual $10,000 unrestricted grant to a filmmaker whose work aligns with our mission through our partnership program with Breaking Through the Lens.
