Fiscal Sponsorship
At Simbelle, Fiscal Sponsorship is a valuable partnership which allows our organization, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, to support mission-aligned projects that are in the development and fundraising stage. The initiative gives independent filmmakers access to non-profit funding, which serves as crucial capital in the early life of a film.
ANOUSHKA is a feature film written and to be directed by Marina Michelson, and produced by Lauren Lukow and Tracy Aftergood. Set in 1970 Soviet Moldova, the film follows a fashion-obsessed Jewish teenager whose black-market deal for stolen fabrics threatens to upend her family’s plan to flee the USSR. The production is currently targeting a Summer 2027 shoot in Belgrade, Serbia with production services provided by This and That Productions. The production entity is Anna’s Notebook, LLC, a California-based company with Lauren Lukow and Marina Michelson serving as its principals.
