In the late 1990s, eight-year-old Sasha and her Hungarian immigrant family relocate to a new home on Vancouver Island. Their fresh start is interrupted by increasingly dangerous behaviour from Jeremy, the family’s oldest child.

Blue Heron is the debut feature film of acclaimed filmmaker Sophy Romvari, a Canadian-Hungarian coproduction from Nine Behind Productions and BODDAH, executive produced by MEMORY, Simbelle Productions, TinyGiant and Ursa Major with funding from Telefilm Canada and the National Film Institute of Hungary.
